Rendered HTML styling guide

It's there some description of rendered HTML? For example, the following markup:

[url:MediaWiki|http://www.mediawiki.org/]

gets rendered as

<a href="http://www.mediawiki.org/" class="externalLink">MediaWiki<span class="externalLinkIcon"></span></a>

so I want to create styles for externalLink and externalLinkIcon. Is this docummented somewhere or the only way is trial and error or browsing of source code?

Other than reading the source, trial and error is your best route.
